  3. This file may be freely distributed in accordance with the license agreement
  4. at the end of these instructions.  (The lawyers made me include it).

  6. Instructions:

  9. The most often asked question about WebExtra is:  "Can I convert my
  10. WebExplore QuickList to a bookmark file?  Yes -- in less than five minutes.
  11. You can then organize your entries among different books within WebExtra
  12. or, externally, with a text editor.
  13.  
  14. This is a simple REXX script for converting a WebExplorer QuickList to a
  15. WebExtra bookmark file.  You do not need to know anything about REXX to use
  16. this utility.  Just follow the instructions below.
  17.  
  18. Instructions for editing bookmark files and archive lists with any simple
  19. text editor are included.
  20.  
  21.  
  22.      1. Close WebExtra
  23.  
  24.      2. Copy this REXX Program (qwiklist.cmd) into your WebExtra books
  25.         directory.  For example:
  26.  
  27.            COPY QWIKBOOK.CMD E:\WEBEXTRA\BOOKS\QWIKBOOK.CMD
  28.  
  29.      3. Find your EXPLORE.INI file.  You can use the directory search
  30.         command to find the file.  For example, from the root directory of a
  31.         drive enter:

  33.            DIR EXPLORE.INI /S
  34.  
  35.      4. Run QWIKLIST as follows with the full path of EXPLORE.INI:
  36.  
  37.            QWIKLIST C:\MPTN\ETC\EXPLORE.INI
  38.  
  39.                    The result is a file called QWIKLIST.BM

  42.      5. Launch WebExtra. Open the Quick List Book and select a URL. The
  43.         page will be loaded by the WebExplorer.

  46. Editing WebExtra Book Files:
  47. ----------------------------

  49. Entries in the bookmark files are a result of selecting a bookmark icon and 
  50. double-clicking on it when viewing a page. You can also add a bookmark after
  51. the fact from the jump list or from one of the monthly archive lists of 
  52. URL's. You can also use WebExtra functions to move and copy entries between 
  53. bookmark files.
  54.  
  55. Because the format of bookmark files is so simple, many people have 
  56. discovered that they can edit and reorganize bookmark files with a text 
  57. editor. Here is what you need to know.
  58.  
  59.      A. The first line is a very brief description of the book followed by a
  60.         spade symbol and the name of an icon.  The spade symbol can be typed
  61.         into a line by holding down the Alt key and typing in 0 0 6 on the
  62.         numeric keypad.  The name of the icon for the book can be one of the
  63.         icons in the WebExtra icons directory or it can a full path to any
  64.         icon on your system.

  66.      B. Entries for URL's are simply the name of a web page (or any text you
  67.         prefer), a diamond symbol, the exact URL, another diamond, the date
  68.         in MM/DD format, a third diamond, the time in HH:MMxm format, and a
  69.         final diamond.  The diamond can be entered by holding down the Alt
  70.         key and typing in 0 0 4 on the numberic keypad.

  72.      C. Bookmark files can have any name but they must have a file extension
  73.         of BM. For example: MYBOOK.BM
  74.  
  75. The following is an example of a WebExtra bookmark file.

  90. This License Agreement applies to an InnoVal computer program called
  91. QWIKLIST.CMD (hereinafter referred to as Software).
  92.  
  93. This Software is licensed not sold.  InnoVal Systems Solutions, Inc.  grants
  94. you a license for the Software in the country where you received the
  95. Software.  You obtain no rights other than those granted under this license.
  96.  
  97. The term Software means the original and all whole or partial copies of it,
  98. including modified copies or portions merged into other Software.  InnoVal
  99. retains title to the Software.  InnoVal owns the copyright for the Software.
  100.  
  101. You are responsible for the selection of the Software and for the
  102. installation of, use of, and results obtained from, the Software.
  103.  
  104. 1.   License
  105.  
  106.      Under this license, you may:
  107.  
  108.      a.   use the Software on one machine at a time.
  109.  
  110.      b.   transfer the possession of the Software to
  111.           another party by transferring a copy of the
  112.           Software and a copy of this license. If you
  113.           transfer the Software you must not retain any
  114.           copies. Your license is then terminated.
  115.  
  116.      c.   provide a copy of the Software to another 
  117.           party and/or place a copy in a software
  118.           repository. If you do so you must include
  119.           this license agreement and any documentation.
  120.           This clause only pertains to the program for
  121.           which this license applies. This clause does 
  122.           not pertain to any other software required to
  123.           use or to make use of the Software.

  126.      You may not:

  128.      a.   use, copy, modify, merge, or transfer copies of
  129.           the Software except as provided in this license;
  130.  
  131.      b.   reverse assemble or reverse compile the
  132.           Software; or
  133.  
  134.      c.   sublicense, rent, lease, loan or share your rights
  135.           to the Software except that members of one
  136.           family living together may share one copy of the
  137.           software at one residence.

  140. 2.   Limitation of Remedies
  141.  
  142.      InnoVal will not be liable for any lost profits, lost
  143.      savings, or any incidental damages or other economic
  144.      consequential damages that may arise from the use of
  145.      the Software even if InnoVal, or an authorized
  146.      supplier, has been advised of the possibility of such
  147.      damage. InnoVal will not be liable for any damages
  148.      claimed by you based on any third party claim.

  151. 3.   General
  152.  
  153.      The license granted to you is effective until
  154.      terminated. You may terminate this license at any
  155.      time if you destroy all copies of the Software. 
  156.  
  157.      If you acquired this Software in the United States, this
  158.      license is governed by the laws of the State of New
  159.      York. Otherwise, this license is governed by the laws
  160.      of the country in which you aquired the Software.
